More monochromatic-ness on the runway at World MasterCard Fashion Week…I ain’t mad. Last season, edgy designer extraordinaire Sid Neigum ventured outside his black and white box by experimenting with floral prints and crisp green hues, but for Spring 2014 he went back to his comfort zone (Evil smile). This time around he added a few hits of burgundy and bronze to his palette of mostly black, white and grey – but obviously I tend to favour the aforementioned anti-colour looks. The intricate laser-cut detailing elevated his simple shift dresses to the edgy territory he’s known for, but the crisp white & loose draping helped to break up the geometric lines and angular cuts and added some softness for Spring. The shoes, which Neigum designed and created himself, were such a major Margiela-esque avant-garde finish to the looks.
